The Story of a Paper Airplane

No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and His love is made complete in us

1 John 4:12

Have you ever tried to make a paper airplane? It is actually a lot harder than I expected. I decided to make one to test it out. It was clearly up to the highest of paper plane standards that I could reach. I took it outside and sent it launching… straight into the ground. I did say the standards I could reach. Anyways, it reminded me of a story I heard as a kid. It is a classic romance story about a boy who loves a girl. He would send her messages, poems, and love letters through paper airplanes. They would always make it to her, no matter the adventure it took to find her. God's love doesn’t have a limit either. He gives it to us no matter where we are in life.

I imagine God’s love as a paper airplane following me, and wow, do I take it on an adventure. But His love always reaches the intended target. Maybe we can start to give our love away, too. Letting it fly and trusting God to reach its intended target. Would you fold up your love and send it launching into the world? God will take care of the rest. Love doesn’t have a limit, so fold some up and send it away wherever you go.
