Taking Time
Bethany Cyphert
Time is a precious resource. Each day is another day we have to live out God’s plan and bring Him glory. We can never rewind the day or fast-forward to another, even though that would be the coolest super-power ever! But that would make time no longer valuable — we can never get it back. So, what do you choose to spend your time on?
Time is something we can give away. God calls us to give of ourselves, our resources, our money, and even our time. Each day that we sacrifice for another person, we are saying that they are more valuable than our time. How can you sacrifice your time to God? Is He more valuable than your time?
It could be volunteering with your family at a toy drive, or shopping for gifts for a family in need. Or maybe serving at church in a ministry that needs volunteers. Or, it could look like discipling your coworker over coffee each week. There are a million ways we can give our time away. As we approach the holiday season, we will have many guests walking through our doors— many who may not know Jesus. Will you sacrifice some time this season to serve them? We still have some needs for Choirs and Carols, and Christmas Eve. As these events approach, we are so excited to see how God will use them to touch people’s hearts!
