Live to Out Love

The most incredible form of love that we can ever experience is love from God. He continues to love us every day, whether we deserve it or not. And let’s be real, none of us deserve it. But that is what makes it so special: He chooses to love us every day more than we would ever love Him. He out-loves us.

It reminds me of the saying, “don’t cross oceans for people who wouldn’t cross puddles for you”. God would cross oceans for us, even if we ran in the opposite direction. He would choose to do something that shows His love, even when we choose not to see it.

At times, the people that we love may only be able to cross a puddle. Sometimes we have access to a sailboat, but all they have are rain boots. That is not to say that we should allow ourselves to be repeatedly hurt by others. It is simply said to make us think. Sometimes, those people who only have rain boots need you to bring them across the ocean. And one day, when all you have are your boots, they just may return the favor. This weekend, I challenge you to do something to out-love a loved one. Maybe it is a friend you know is hurting. Help them pick up their rain boots and keep trusting God with their journey.
