In the Valley

InthevalleyWhen you stand in a valley and look around, everything seems so tall and out of reach. It seems that the paths up are never ending with complicated twists and turns. If you have hiked up a mountain before, you may know that you walk a switchback path that weaves back and forth along the incline. This path can look like you are not getting closer to the top. But in reality, this is the safest, easiest and best path out of the valley.

Life can feel like that sometimes. Certain seasons might have you feeling stuck in a deep and treacherous valley with no way out. But that is where God comes in. He makes us a path. And yes, it is not always straight. But He keeps our strength up so we can keep climbing. He gives us a way out by relying on Him. If we tried to run straight up the side of a mountain, we would fall and slide painfully back down. Trusting God’s path might take longer, but we will get to the top-- as we finish the race with Him. So, when you feel like you will never make it to the top, stop and look around at where you have already been. What you have already climbed. The rain, storms, and sunshine have grown a beautiful path behind you. So, look for the flowers that bloom in the valley and keep climbing.
