In The Dark
Bethany Cyphert
Can you imagine what the stars looked like a thousand years ago? They burn so brightly in the darkness. But if we look at the sky today, the stars can be hard to find— drowned out by the light and interrupted by the day. But, each one is still there, even if we can’t see them.
If you have never experienced a Dark Sky park, make it a goal to go. When I sat in the darkness and looked at the stars, I was overwhelmed by the vastness of God’s creation.
He determines the number of the stars;
He gives to all of them their names.
Psalm 147:4
Sometimes we drown out all of the darkness with the light. But, it is in the stillness of the dark that we can hear God— see His power. There is a sinful dark that needs to be drowned by God’s light. But there is also a peaceful darkness created by God. A darkness to rest, to be in awe, and to have faith.
