Behind the Window
Windows give you the joy of experiencing the outdoors from the comfort of your couch. They block the cold, but still let some light through. Windows remove the uncomfortable feeling of the weather changing, rain that pours, or the sounds of a very talkative bird. However, when you open a door, you step out into the uncomfortable. You have to confront the change and feel the rain.
Sometimes we try to stick God behind a window. We have this perfect plan and think we don’t need God right now. We watch what He does in other people’s lives, and we don’t want to feel that discomfort of change. Gazing from our windows, we reject His change. This might keep us out of the rain, but it doesn’t stop the storm. And when the sun finally starts to shine and the warmth returns, we can’t feel it. We ask, “God, where are you?” He will always be right there. Waiting for us to open the door and run after Him. Through the uncomfortable and the heartache. But also through the sun and the joy. All we have to do is open the door and take one step at a time. Chasing after God the way that He does us. Don’t sit behind a window.
Take a chance on an adventure with God—and run.
